Dear HealthConnect User

 

Welcome to the very first issue of our new quarterly newsletter, The Insider!

 

We have created this newsletter to keep you up-to-date on our developments, news and partnerships as well as to give you an opportunity to tell us what you think.

 

As you know, each newsletter will feature several sections, such as product enhancements, partner spotlight, press releases and our coverage in the media, tips and tricks, and a write up on a topic that focuses on the developments impacting our clients and the product strategy we are pursuing as a result of those trends.

 

For this edition, I thought I’d answer the question, “Who is HealthConnect?” Most people think of us as a quoting company. However, despite being the nation's leader in that field, our business is much larger and much broader than quoting.

Product spotlight

The Product Spotlight section, which will regularly highlight one of our products in more detail, will also enable us to keep you updated on new products and new features of our existing products.

Individual/family plan (IFP) quoting is now available through HealthConnect. Similar to group quoting, IFP quoting allows brokers to enter client information and immediately quote all plans from all carriers instantly, create a proposal and email it to your client. IFP can also allow you to enable consumers shop for plans directly from your website and enroll in those plans online. We developed IFP because many of our agent and general agent clients were telling us it was becoming an increasingly important part of their business. Looking forward, whether John McCain or Barack Obama wins the presidency, the IFP market is likely to expand further. Since, in a handful of states, IFP is starting to become competitive with group rates, we plan to develop a capability for brokers to compare IFP to group rates for employees in the future.

 

IFP quoting is currently available in California, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C. and Connecticut. New Jersey IFP is expected to be released shortly. In addition, we have recruited carriers and are loading data for Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, Arizona and Colorado, with six additional states planned after that. Basic IFP quoting will be available to all clients at no additional cost.

Partner Spotlight will regularly focus on one of our partners whose services we make available to you through our quoting system and HRConnect.

To assist employers with the design and administration of HRAs, our agency has partnered with Choice Care Card, the leading provider of HRA administration services in the country. (Note: Choice Care Card's HRA services are currently not available in California.)

With Choice Care Card, the employer has complete control over the way they set up their plan and complete confidence in how it is administered. Choice Care Card services 2,000 employer groups and 75,000 members, and adhere to the highest administrative service standards in the industry.

Having trouble using a feature in the quoting system or HRConnect? Tips and Tricks section will provide you with a quick "how to."

Do you know how to assign plans to individual employees in HRConnect? Follow these few steps.

  1. After you've logged into www.reviewmybenefits.com, click on the "Benefits" tab.

  2. Then click on "Assign Plans" link on top right.

  3. Select the line of coverage from the drop-down menu on the left. The screen will refresh and will display the list of employees with the status, plan and employee rate information.

  4. In the plan column, select the plan from the drop-down menu for each employee.

  5. The employee rate, and the employee and employer cost will be automatically populated.

  6. Click on the "Update" link on the bottom right. You will receive notification that the plans have been assigned.

Preferred Care Unveils Online Broker Resources, Quoting Tools

Rochester, NY - Health insurance brokers will now be able to obtain Preferred Care product rate quotes for their clients and manage their clients' Preferred Care benefit plans online. This online integration is a result of Preferred Care’s partnership with HealthConnect, which will provide Preferred Care with a state-of-the-art online quoting platform for small group businesses. In addition, Preferred Care benefit plans will also be a part of HealthConnect's multi-health plan carrier site -- an innovative, online tool providing real-time competitive assessment and health plan network analysis.
