Officers, Directors & Key Shareholders
Peter Everett, President and Chief Executive Officer
- Peter founded HealthConnect in 2001. Starting with a dozen agency clients quoting 5 carriers in a single state, through internal growth and acquisitions, Peter has directed the company to its current leadership position in the employee benefits technology industry with a user base of 6,700 agents, 100+ medical carriers and numerous ancillary and service providers spanning a 17 state region. Peter has also overseen the extension of the company’s product line from small group quoting only to individual/family plan quoting, human resource and benefits administration, enrollment, network analysis and other capabilities. Prior to joining the Company, Peter was a Principal in the technology investment banking group of JP Morgan. During his 12-year career on Wall Street, Peter focused on technology companies which serviced the financial services industries, including eInsurance companies. From this position, Peter was able to meet with and assess many eInsurance companies and over an extended period of time had the opportunity to develop a viewpoint on the industry and its potential. Peter graduated with BS and MBA degrees from Cornell University in 1987 and 1990, respectively.
Tim Farnan, Chief Operating Officer
- As the Chief Operating Officer for HealthConnect, Tim is responsible for product development, content and operations. Tim has extensive experience in the health insurance technology industry developing products used in the customer acquisition process. From 1994 through 1999, he was a partner in Blaise Software and served as Vice President of Development. In 1999, Blaise was acquired by ChannelPoint, where Tim continued as Vice President of Development and Operations for the HealthMarkets division. Under his leadership, CP HealthMarkets developed and implemented many successful quoting, proposal, and internet sales applications for carriers throughout the US. Tim graduated with a BS in Physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1987.
Dan Masciopinto, Chief Technology Officer
- As the Chief Technology Officer, Dan is responsible for managing the ongoing development of our solutions, as well as the technical operations. Prior to joining HealthConnect, Dan served as the CTO for Benefitport where he managed the development and rollout of their multi-carrier quoting system into ten states. Dan has also held senior technology positions with Priceline Webhouse Club and Oxford Health Plans. He spent the first nine years of his career working on large-scale systems integration projects for Andersen Consulting and KPMG. Dan earned a B.A., with honors, from the University of Notre Dame.
Karen Buck, Business Manager and In-House Counsel
– As the Business Manager and in-house counsel for HealthConnect, Karen is responsible for all financial, regulatory and legal operations. Prior to joining HealthConnect, Karen served as a judicial law clerk for a federal court judge. Karen has also been a boiler and machinery insurance underwriter and a shareholder in a large independent insurance agency. Karen graduated with BA and JD degrees from California State University, Fresno and S.J. College of Law, respectively. While in law school, Karen was a member of the S.J. Agricultural Law Review. She is admitted to practice law in the State of California and the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.
